PORCELAIN CROWNS

A crown is a thin layer of metal, porcelain or both, which restores and strengthens worn, broken and decayed teeth. With advances in dental ceramics, the vast majority of crown we do are metal free.

FILLINGS & SEALANTS

Most of the fillings done nowadays are metal free, ceramic resin hybrids that are bonded to the teeth to reduce failure and repeat decay. Sealants is a shallow version of fillings used to fill grooves on the biting surface of children’s teeth.

ROOT CANAL THERAPY

When a tooth breaks, cracks or has constant pain, treatment often involves removing an infected nerve. Other symptoms may include the inability to chew on a tooth, thermal (hot-cold) sensitivity, or swelling beside a tooth. Once the nerve is removed and thermos plastic/bioceramic sealer is used to fill the space left.

TEETH WHITENING

A process of whitening teeth by using a peroxide based, stain extracting agent. These are often in a gel form and applied via custom trays or pre-filled trays either at night as you sleep or 30-40 minutes per day. You can also use strips that adhere to the teeth.

IMPLANTS

Placement of threaded titanium cylinders either at the time of a tooth removal (extraction), or later. Individual or multiple implants can be placed and provide for a very natural look and function of replaced teeth.

TEETH CLEANING & SCALING

The removal of stains and tartar deposits using hand instruments, polishers and ultrasonic scalers. When many years have passed between cleanings or a person naturally develops a lot of tartar, or is a heavy smoker, a DEEP cleaning may be required.

A Deep cleaning is also called Scaling and Root Planning, which may require some local anesthetic and nitrous oxide (relaxing gas) to make it more comfortable.

NITROUS OXIDE/SEDATION

This is used for the patient who has “high anxieties” about dentistry or having a longer procedure done. This is a wonderful way to relax. A Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen mixture is provided through a soft, small, nose cove and is adjusted to suit each patients level of comfort. When the procedure is done, 100% oxygen is given for about 10 minutes, until the patient is fully alert. We monitor vital signs throughout this procedure and it is very safe.

TMJ-CLENCHING OR GRINDING

Some people are quite aggressive in clenching their teeth while they sleep and others actually grind them and wear them down. These activities are often associated with jaw joint pain (TMJ) and headaches or migraines. It can also lead to cracked or broken teeth as well as your teeth becoming loose or cold sensitivity. Most commonly this is treated with a variety of mouth guards or bite adjustments. In some cases, injections are done in the chewing muscles which is used to reduce pain and hyper-activity.

LASER GUM SURGERY

This technique involves using a dental laser which is used to remove gum tissue to improve esthetics by increasing the visible length of teeth or reducing deep gum pockets. Deep gum pockets are a part of gum disease.

PINHOLE GUM REJUVENATION

This surgery technique uses NO stitches or cutting of the gums. It is done through several small pin holes by using special instruments. It is used to correct receding gums and exposed roots. Chao Pinhole.

TOOTH EXTRACTIONS

The simple or surgical removal of teeth which may utilize bone grafting to preserve the bone for a future implant. In some cases, an immediate temporary tooth or teeth can be prepared before the extraction is done to allow for a nice smile and to fill the gap.

CLEAR CORRECT

This is an orthodontic technique which uses clear trays to provide gentle movement for your crowded teeth or if you need some rotation or to close a space.

3-D IMAGING

This process is like a CT scan but with far less radiation. This allows us to see and detect root fractures, impacted teeth, dental abscess’s and other infections.

BRIDGEWORK

A bridge is used to create a tooth, or several teeth, in a space created by missing teeth. Usually a bridge is a single piece of porcelain that cements permanently to teeth adjacent to the space.
